Baseboard for Chicago and its Suburbs!

TRIMLOGIC installs baseboard throughout Chicagoland!

A commonly overlooked detail, enhanced Baseboards can be the difference between cheap-looking and handsome.  Baseboard is installed along the transition between floor and wall, covering the gap and drawing your eye to gorgeous flooring.  Baseboard could be considered the cousin of Crown Molding, as they both run parallel to the ceiling and floor. In a proper design the Baseboard and the Crown Moldings compliment each other in style and size.

Usually Baseboard is installed throughout an entire Chicagoland home or office. Practically, Baseboard hides the ugly transition between the drywall and the floor, be it hardwood, tile or carpet. Baseboard provides protection to the wall against things like shoes, vacuums, brooms, and even office carts. When baseboard is coated with a hard finish like semi-gloss paint, this prevents any damage to the Baseboard itself. If scuffed, Baseboard can easily be cleaned unlike drywall which is prone to denting and becoming dirty.

Baseboards also help ground a room and give definition to the size and stature of the walls. Do you have a hardwood or tile floor that you are proud of? Baseboard is a great way to draw attention to your investment while enhancing it even further.

Base shoe, which is a small half circle molding, is almost always (except on carpet) used in conjunction with Baseboard installation. It is somewhat flexible and ensures that there will be no gaps between the floor and the bottom of the Baseboard. When painted and finished, the Baseboard and Shoe Moldings look like one final Baseboard Molding.

Sometimes Baseboard around Chicago is used in other applications besides along the floor. The profile of Baseboard is often inverted to offer detail underneath shelves. It is also used in this inverted fashion to enhance Crown Molding & Cornice systems along the ceiling.
